The First Meeting

Endless seemed the wait,
Worthless the effort.
Heard everyone’s story,
Their marvelous fortune,
Their blissful encounters.
Envy was forbidden,
Thus disguised it with admiration.

Let the mind play with imaginations,
Let it stage an encounter.
Let it hover around walls
Which it very well knows
Cannot be broken by wishful thinking.

The One burning within, was hardly interested.
It cared not for a meeting,
It has lived There.
It cared not to be introduced,
It has belonged where.

But for the lesser beings,
It is a matter of great excitement.
The mind gets a proof,
The heart gets an assurance,
Life gets its worth.

And You came.
You spoke.
But the sense were sleeping,
Or a bit too awake.

Thus,a fulfilled meeting
It could not be.
But You were within reach,
And the glow I could see.

Was pulled back before I could touch,
Deprived of Your embrace.
But You came.
For the first meeting.
What more do I ask for?
